2011 Business Horizons Schedule of Events

Wednesday, September 14^th

5:30 –7:30 P.M.                      Welcome Reception- The Holiday Inn, Blacksburg, VA

• Meet with the 2011 Business Horizons Team, Pamplin College of Business faculty and administrators, Career Services staff, other company representatives attending the fair, and BH supporters.
• Check in, registration packets, and booth assignments will be available.  Only one representative from each company needs to check in.  If you check in at the reception, you will not need to check in a second time at the fair itself.

 

8:00-10:00 P.M.                       Early Set-Up- Squires Student Center

• Company representative(s) will have the option to set up booths the night before the fair.

 

Thursday, September 15^th

7:45 -9:30 A.M.                       Arriving/Unloading

• Student volunteers (wearing maroon BH T-shirts) will be available to help unload and carry display items from the unloading areas of Squires on the Alumni Mall side.  For convenience and proximity to the fair area, you are encouraged to use the Alumni Mall unloading area, if possible.  Shuttle vans will take company representatives to and from the lots designated for BH from 7:30 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. Parking permits for the Chicken Hill parking lot will be distributed in the shuttle.

 

Note: We will be unable to feed parking meters for employers, so if meter parking is used, the responsibility of keeping the meter paid will be that of the employer.  Parking tickets due to expired meters, parking without proper permits, and parking in unauthorized lots will NOT be paid by Business Horizons.

 

8:00 – 9:45 A.M.                      Set-Up/Check-In

• This time is designated for setting up displays and employer check-in.  Those who checked in at the reception do not need to check in the day of the fair.  Only one representative from each company needs to check-in.

 

8:00-9:45 A.M.                        Breakfast- Williamsburg Room, Squires Student Center

 

9:45 A.M.                               Opening Remarks & Welcome- Commonwealth Ballroom

 

10:00 A.M.                              Doors will open to all students for recruiting

12:00 – 2:00 P.M.                    Lunch- Williamsburg Room, Squires Student Center

• Lunch will be available for company representatives.  Water will be served throughout the entire fair from 10:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M.

 

4:00 P.M.                                 Conclusion of Business Horizons and Loading

• Recruiting will conclude at 4:00 P.M.  Student volunteers will be available for assistance in taking down and carrying displays to cars.  Shuttle vans will be available until 5:00 P.M. to return recruiters to their vehicles. 

All day                                    Beverages and Shuttle Service

• Bottled water will be available all day.  Student volunteers will bring water to the booths, if desired.  Coffee will be available during breakfast.
• A continuous shuttle service will be available to and from the Chicken Hill to from 7:30 A.M. to 5:00 P.M.

Note: Should you need to be taken to your vehicle during the fair, let someone know at the Check-In Booth, and you will be shuttled to your vehicle.
