Business Horizons is a career fair coordinated by a student leadership
team in the Pamplin College of Business at Virginia Tech. This year’s
fair will be Thursday, September 18, 2008, from 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM. The
college offers fully-accredited majors in Accounting and Information Systems,
Business Information Technology, Economics, Finance, Hospitality and Tourism
Management, Management, and Marketing. The college also offers degree programs
for Masters of Accounting and Masters of Business Administration.
Registration for Business Horizons is currently open. Registration fees are:
$650 per 8' by 6' booth and $750 per 10' by 6' booth. (We recommend no more
than 6 recruiters per 8' booth or 8 recruiters per 10' booth. Registration
ends Saturday, September 6, 2008.
When registering, please complete your company information, which will be printed
in the Company Profile Book provided to the students. This information also appears
in the Company Profiles on-line, in advance of the fair date. Students use this
information to become familiar with your company, so please be as descriptive as
possible, about your company and its opportunities. Please have the company information
submitted by Saturday, September 06, 2008. Any company information received after September
6th will be included on-line but not in the printed Company Profile Book.
In past years, Business Horizons has attracted more than 150 companies and between 1,300
and 1,500 students. This year promises to do the same or exceed that expectation. The
evening prior to the fair, a reception is given in honor of the employers attending.
Attending will also be the Pamplin administration and faculty, along with the BH student
leadership team and staff from VT Career Services. After the reception, there will be an
opportunity to set up your booths for the fair, with the help of team members and BH
volunteers. Team members and volunteers will also be available to help you set up your
booth and assist you on the day of the fair if you prefer to set up on Thursday morning.
A CD, containing electronic copies of registered student resumes, is included with your
registration fees. You will receive this CD at the Check-In desk, the day of the fair.
